My boys have been on the rampage again.
The list of their destructions is long and horrible, starting with the holes they made in our neighbor's above-ground pool using large, jagged blocks of cement, then moving on to stripping the wires of our other neighbor's automatic garage door, then breaking into my friend's van. They rounded out their path of destruction by breaking the trunk latch on my cousin's car!
Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that they have been caught many times of late climbing in window wells, spying on innocent neighbors at 6 in the a.m. and incessantly ringing the door bell of the guy down the street who works the swing shift and is trying to get some sleep.
The Larson's, bless their hearts, tried to repair the pool with patches, but the patches aren't holding and the water is slowly leaking out as we speak. When I got the phone call that the pool couldn't be fixed and would need to be replaced, I had a little break down, since I had just spent the morning trying to help Marc get into his broken trunk.
My friend Belinda called just after I'd gotten off the phone with the home owner's insurance people (thank goodness our policy includes liability), and made the mistake of asking how I was doing. Choking back more tears I expressed to her my worries that we would soon be banished from the neighborhood because of our lovely children.
Being the wonderful, insightful friend that she is, Belinda came to the rescue. She took my kids for the afternoon to Kangaroo Zoo and out for ice cream, and as if that weren't enough, paid for me to have a pedicure! How nice was that!!! I can't tell you the gratitude I felt for her as I sat having my feet dipped in warm wax and chatting, uninterrupted, to my friend Danielle, up from St. George, who happened to be getting a pedicure for the same reason as me. She has three crazy boys of her own.
So now I have very cute toes and soft heels, and although my woes are not completely gone, at least they have been soothed quite a bit. Belinda, I love you!
P.S. After crying to my mom as well, she had a good suggestion. She thinks I should sign the boys up for some Taekwando. It would be something for them to put their energies into and something to help teach them more discipline. I think it's a good idea. Maybe the could karate chop some boards instead of the neighbor's flower boxes. What do you think?

Very funny! I wish that my brothers were like that :D I miss those two little guys, and I know that Jake and Matt do too.
Oh, I am so sorry for your absolutely naughty yet creative boys! What a great friend to take them off your hands for a while and send you off for some spa time!
You need to make a movie someday about all their adventures. Denis the Menace has nothing on those boys, and if Denis' adventures can make money, surely theirs can, too.
That friend, and you, should both be sainted. I don't even know how you do it. However, I do know that pretty toes can solve A LOT of problems. I don't know if they can solve all of your problems...but a lot of them, anyway.
I should do a post of all the nice things you do for me. I will definitely have to do it again for you sometime. I hope you're keeping a journal of all the fun the boys have caused you lately because someday you are going to have so much fun reminiscing. Cute toes!
I'm glad that you have such a good and inspired friend as Belinda so that I could benefit too! I HAD A BLAST AT OUR YUMMY LUNCH. We definitley need to do it again soon. Your the best and it just reminded me how much I miss you! Ps im jealous about the four wheeling trip too. Sounds Great!
Pedicures started getting mundane (mostly I just can't afford them) so I bought a foot spa in attempt to soak away my woes. I'll let you know if it works. And if you don't take me on those waverunners as you promised on my blog, I'll never forgive you as long we both shall live. Having that to look forward to is pretty much getting me through the summer. No pressure.
I am so sorry about what happened Jill, that is too bad. That is so sweet that Belinda took the kids for you, I am glad you got a break! I love you! I am excited to see you soon and that is too bad they CTW
Karate chop is definitely one solution...I am with Aunt Janice...
Oh Jill...I heard the other end of your conversation with Jeff and I could tell he was delighting in your misery but he never told me what you had said. It's a good thing you have the blog. You're always welcome to bring them up and they can play with the garage door and ponder the mystery of why our garage door is in the basement. Karate may be the answer. People often make suggestions like that for Stockton but I'm worried that it will just increase his aggression...If you ever figure it out, please share.
