For months and month we’ve had a family reunion (my side) planned. We were to meet at Bear Lake’s Harbor Village for a long stay. Thursday was departure day. I spent Wednesday preparing. We had the van packed to the gills and ready to go when Mary Kate announced that she was starting to feel sick.
As you may recall, last time MK felt sick we missed our trip to Zion National Park.
Sure enough, she tested positive for Strep and we were foiled again by stupid bacteria. Those tiny buggers ruin all our vacations!
Once we got some antibiotics pumping through her veins for the designated 24 hours, we decided to head up anyway, even if it was only for one day. We were all very bored and dejected at home, sitting around, knowing we were missing out on the family fun.
(I forgot my big camera, but I managed to get a few pictures with my phone)
You may notice that no one is actually in the water. The water temperature was a chilly 52 degrees. Burrrr! Early June is probably not the best time to vacation at Bear Lake, but it was beautiful all the same. I love the colors at Bear Lake.
When it’s too cold for the lake you play games and take pictures of cute babies at the condo.
Thanks Eric and Emily for arranging everything. We’re so sorry that bacteria got the better of us! Maybe next year we’ll make it without a hitch.
