Baby Goats

As sad as we were to see our dear friends the Crafts move from our neighborhood, we are sure loving our frequent visits to their new homestead. They moved to a charming little two acre spread up in Lehi, and have turned their new place into a mini family farm. They have a horse, a flock of chickens, a dog, and have just added two new baby goats to their collection. Clara and Bella, the cutest little baby goats you’ll ever see. We’re all enchanted.

The babies still need to be bottle fed, which is great, because it’s delightful entertainment for the whole family to watch them suck down a bottle of milk in warp speed. It’s really something to behold.

And they love to climb up on anything and everything. A person just laying in the grass is something to climb on. They especially love climbing on Stan. He doesn’t seem to mind though, even if they pee on him. Which they do.

The Craft’s horse is named McGyver, nameed thus because he’s a tricky one and figured out how to open his own gate latch. He’s a gentle horse and doesn’t seem to mind kids. When we visit, my kids love going for rides. We finally got Jonathan to take a ride this last time. He’s been a bit reluctant, but I really should get that kid a cowboy hat because he took to riding like a pro.

Even Mike’s been getting a few cowboy lessons. All he needs now is a Stetson, some Wranglers, and some cowboy boots. Somehow, saddling a horse in Tevas doesn’t seem quite right.

Between goat feedings and horse rides Mary Kate even learned how to ride a pogo stick. There’s certainly never a dull moment at the Craft farm.

Thanks Craft family for sharing your new little slice of heaven with us and helping us get in touch with our inner farmer. Let us know when the baby kittens arrive. We’ll be right up!

What a life-style! All the perks and not much work! Those are great friends to have. One of my best friends as a child was a baby goat. They are so fun!

Jill, you seem to have all the best family and friends. You must be a magnet for attracting great people into your lives.
