Take One Last Look

IMG_6679

Take one last look at me in my glasses everybody, because this time next week I won’t need them anymore! Due to a delay in Mary Kate getting her braces, we have a surplus in our flex spending account. You know how that works, use it or lose it, so since we don’t want to lose a few thousand dollars, I get to have my eyes fixed! Yahoo!

On Wednesday I go under the laser. I’m not doing Lasik though, I’m doing something called PRK. Maybe some of you have heard of it? Instead of cutting into the eye they just scrape at it with a laser. I know, ewwww, the thought of it gives me the creeps too, but every time my glasses pinch my nose, or fog up when I open the oven, or after I fiddle with my contacts for 20 minutes and they still won’t go in, or I try to peel them off my eyeballs after accidentally falling asleep in them, the idea of my eyeballs being scrapped becomes less and less gross. It will be so amazing to just wake up and be able to see clearly!

As excited as I am though, I’ll admit that sometimes scary thoughts creep in which usually involve me being blinded for life, which would be terribly sad because then I could never see these little funny faces again…….

,……wish me luck everyone!

Totally beautiful. I'm going to steal your hair when you're not looking.

Good luck with the lasers!

Sorry, I spelled something incorrect and I couldn't stand it so I have to leave an entirely new comment. Why can't we edit these things?! So annoying...

Anyhow, good luck Jill. I have friend who just got this done and loves it. That picture is gorgeous, you sexy thing.

I'm so scared for you I'm not going to sleep until you let me know you can still see. And your description of your trouble with contacts made my eyes water just thinking of the discomfort. I can't handle occasionally getting a microscopic piece of dust in my eye. Best of luck. And seriously... let me know if you go blind.

Good luck! I'm hoping to get mine done one of these days (or years!). Can't wait to hear all about it!

I seriously doubt that you will go blind, but am excited you will be glasses free.

That hair, when did you get that done! Aren't you just about the hottest walking thing in the whole neighborhood!

Good luck friend. I hope you have a nice trip even if you are going to get your eyes scraped. It would be nice not to have to wear glasses.

Congratulations! I hope everything goes well for you. Somehow I think I'm the only one who gets foggy glasses when I open the oven. And that it is a signal from the heavens that I am destined to be nerdy for life. Really. I've thought that. And I don't ever really expect that it happens to other people. You, Jill, have just helped me bond with you. I feel so much better. Thank you. And good luck.

GOOD LUCK!! Yeah! That is so great! John got lasik done several years ago, and I'm grateful. Now I just wish I could have something like that done. I'm glad you can do something for you! And you do look so beautiful even in glasses!
