The anticipation has been building for months; ever since October when Mary Kate made the cut for the Junior High School musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie. Since then she has been eating, sleeping and breathing this production. I’ve really never seen her so totally engaged. She was truly fired up…thoroughly happy.
Last weekend were the performances. I attended all four. (I’m pretty sure I have the whole play memorized now, been quoting it for days) I was thoroughly entertained at each performance. By the time the last curtain fell on Saturday night, I was completely won over by this cast of forty five very talented junior high students.
I was especially impressed with my very own Pricilla Girl, Miss Mary Kate. She was thoroughly fantastic! (And that’s a totally unbiased opinion)
Her dancing partner here, Cameron Lee, may or may not have been one of her favorite cast members. Wink, wink.
The part of Millie Dillmount was played by a 13 year old 7th grader. She was quite the powerhouse talent for being so young. Some people are just born to do this kind of thing and Cambry is certainly one of those people. She definitely has a theatrical future ahead of her.
Another scene stealing duo was Mary Kate’s best friend, Ally as Miss Dorothy Brown and Nick, as the Chinese laundry man, Ching Ho who loses his heart to her. Ally is another one born to be on the stage. She was just darling. She consistently got some good laughs from the audience.

I love this picture particularly. I think it really captures the energy these kids brought to each performance. They were having a blast, you could feel it.
Mary Kate was so thrilled by all the support she had during this experience. So many family and friends came to watch her perform. Thank you so much everybody!
There has been a few tears shed these last couple of days. Mary Kate had so much fun with this experience that it’s been quite the let-down now that it’s all over. She just wants to spend her days hanging out with the whole cast and reliving the magic of it all. I totally get that. I’m glad she savored it while it was happening.
p.s. She is not missing the wig. Very itchy!
*A special shout out to Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Schow, Ms. Star and Mr. Manning for being incredible teachers. How lucky PG Jr. High is to have educators who are so incredibly dedicated. Thank you all!

Megan and I thoroughly enjoyed the play as well! I'm so glad we were able to attend. Way to go, MK! We look forward to more productions from you and your friends!
I am *thoroughly* disappointed that I didn't get to go. Did anybody capture it on video, perchance? MK, you look gorgeous! I remember listening to MK make up some pretty elaborate (and soooo dramatic) tales when she was a little girl and am not at all surprised by this endeavor. Good job, MK! I wish I had dared do something like this when I was younger.
Also.. I think I'd better get her on the phone to hear more about that dancing partner...
Great job MK. You did awesome! It was fun to come and see you. Now about that boy....
I would also watch that video. I'm so proud of you, Mary Kate! You look gorgeous.
I wish I could have seen it! MK is definitely a star in the making.
Great job, MK looked absolutely stunning! What a talent you have there Jill.
We were thoroughly sickened (literally) that we were unable to attend. We will be to then next big shindig. Just have it when we are healthy. I will tell MK the same thing I told Megan and Sarah. "If that boy even so much as puts his arms around you, I will tear them from off his body and not give them back". Just thought you and he should know.
This looks like so much fun! Wish we could have been there. Good work, MK!
