Things are moving slowly and calmly this January. My days are busy, but not too. I have just enough activity to keep me from getting listless, but not too much that I feel overwhelmed. It’s just how I like it.
Today the dog barked at the door again as another delightful package was delivered to my door step. This time a long tube shaped package leaned against the door. Inside: a whimsical little Twenty-Twelve calendar designed by my creative genius of a friend Meredith A. Bak. Around the rolled up calendar: a wish for a wonderful new year. What a perfect gift.
Thanks so much Meredith! You’re a very sweet friend. I had just the empty wall spot for it too; right above my computer screen in my new office where I can see it every day. It’s perfect there.
Other than my new calendar, I don’t have much that’s exciting to blog about these days. I suppose I could write about Jeffrey’s magical inhaler for his newly diagnosed coughing asthma (it’s so much quieter around here now), the talk I’m writing for church this Sunday (on how we can get closer to God through personal worship), how cozy our new memory foam mattress topper is (no more morning back aches), some new recipes I’ve discovered on my quest for healthier eating habits (vegetarian stuffed peppers, fruit and nut balls), our night out at the movies (loved War Horse), the jammie-jam we had with my nieces this weekend (love those nieces), or how much I like playing Just Dance on the Wii (very much), but none of that is really very deserving of a post.
I’m not complaining though, I think it’s nice that January is slow and calm. It needs to be after the hustle and bustle of November and December. January gives me a chance to slow down, gather myself, refocus…earn five stars on some Just Dance songs. You should see me rock this one!

I like this post, reading it makes me calm. :)
How do I get on the "packages at my door" list? And, yes, I would like to see you rock Party Rock Anthem!
I think every single one of those things is blog worthy. Of course, I'll blog about just about anything, e.g. what we pulled out of our clogged drain. I just love feeling like I'm still connected with the people I love! Happy slowish January.
I want a blog on each of those things!! It is so lovely to not be crazy busy these days. I know. You should come visit. ;)
