All winter we looked forward to summer. We couldn’t wait until we could haul the jet skis to the lake to enjoy the heat of the summer sun, to skip across the waves with the wind in our hair, to feel the cool spray on our faces.
Here it is, already the tail of end of July, and we just took the jet skis out for their first real outing of the summer. Why did we wait so long?
Uncle Brad and family invited us up to enjoy a day at Bear Lake with them, and what a day it was. Perfect really. Great weather, warm sand, cool water, perfect company, delicious food, fast jet skis…everything right with the world.
Here are a few highlights…
Possibly Mary Kate’s favorite activity…riding the Jet Skis with Dad
Stephen, visiting from New York, his first time on the jet skis. A natural of course. You can tell by the face.
Mike, once again in his element
Like I said…the best company
Bear Lake has the best sand for building whatever you like
Cutest little Joyce, completely focused, immersed in her sand adventures
Our very own hand crafted ‘Little Mermaid’ along with her loyal pet turtle
My beautiful cousins, Rebekah and Mary Kate
Jonathan’s own hand excavated, personal pond. He crouched in there like this for a very long time. I think it was warm in there.
A shadow picture, in honor of Emilie. We missed you girl!
Happily, the fun didn’t stop at Bear Lake. Afterwards we enjoyed ice cream at Charlie’s, bowling at Logan Lanes (where uncle Brad bowled three strikes in a row on the last frame, crushing all the competition) and then a pizza party and marshmallow roast at the cabin.
Isn’t this a perfectly situated situation?
It was an excellent day, couldn’t have dreamed it better. Thanks Uncle Brad and family. We love being with all of you. Thanks for always being so good to us. Can’t wait until next year when we can do it all over again!

Looks like a lovely time. I hope you have more plans in store for what's left of summer. I am really glad you are enjoying hanging out with families.
Okay you're in for it now. Tempting me in that way. I hope it works out for us to go, if not I just bask in your blog post of Bear Lake and only imagine.
Oh fabulous. Bear Lake is the best, freezing body of water that ever lived.
Sooooo jealous! What a fantastic trip!
OH JILL! I missed you guys too. What a great post and tasting of what I missed. Although I am really loving St. Tropez thoroughly, if there was one other place I would have rather been on that day it is Bear Lake with you guys. LOVE YOU>ej
