People Watching

Yellowstone and Teton trip 2012 296

One reason I love summer is because of the ample people-watching opportunities that are presented. For instance, you can people watch while waiting for the fireworks to start…while relaxing lakeside…while hiking the mountain trails…while working your way through a thick shake at the greasy spoon…while relaxing in a lawn chair at the neighborhood BBQ. Warm weather brings people out of their homes, out into the public sunshine. I love it because I can just watch and watch.

While in Yellowstone, I sat watching and wondering about this lovely mother and her children. They’re so beautifully dressed for a day in nature! They were sitting there, so picturesque with the waterfall in the background, speaking quietly, enjoying a snack. I had my camera.

Now I find myself staring at this picture, wondering some more. I wish I knew who they were so I could send them a copy.

That to me should be published in the Ensign with an article about the gentleness of a mother's love teaching her children about God's creations
