Look Who Turned 36

020

Today is my birthday. When I got home from church I found a fabulous and happy surprise on my lawn and porch…..

029

This lovely display was done by my friend Belinda who really knows how to make a fuss for someone on their birthday. Thanks Belinda. You make me feel so loved!

Each sign on the lawn says something nice about me. Isn’t it great? I love the one out in front that says ‘we love your shoes,’ right next to the one that says ‘you always choose the right.’

I’m not sure that I always choose the right, but, you can rest assured that I’ll always choose the right shoes. Like these bejeweled lovelies that I wore to church today….

These would look a whole lot sassier if my toes were painted. Maybe I should treat myself to a birthday pedicure. (If only I hadn’t seen that story on the news about how truly disgusting those pedicure joints are. Maybe I’ll just go and try not to think about it)

010

Anyway…..I took a personality test once that said that I’m the type that places great importance and value on traditions and celebrations. I’m someone who feels extra happy when people remember important dates like anniversaries and birthdays.

It’s so true. I do like to be remembered on my birthday, and no one has let me down. I truly have the best family and friends. I’ve really been treated right…

I’ve gone to lunch with friends, had a BBQ at the neighbors, made dinner (this was delicious) and enjoyed cupcakes (the s’more one was my favorite) to celebrate Brandon’s and my birthday. Then Belinda and I went to the home show (this one was insane) and out to dinner with our husbands last night, and soon I’ll be off to my parents house where mom is going to make me dinner!  Seriously, could it get any better?

I’m feeling very good. I think I’m well stocked up on feel good juice (and calories) until next year. Thanks everyone for all the cards, birthday wishes, gifts, company, lawn decorations, etc. Thank for making turning 36 so much fun. I love you all!

Happy birthday my dear dear lovely Jill! I think the earth giggled a little when you were born.

Here's something I would put on your front lawn if my arms reached long enough: when you get excited about something, it's as contagious as pinkeye in a makeup store.

Love you! And 36 is such a wonderful mathematical number. A very good age, indeed.

Happiest birthday ever Jill! I'm so glad you're part of my family. What a gem you are. Those are super sassy sandals that I like very much.

Also, I was totally thinking about what a wonderful, mathematical number 36 was too...naturally.

Yes, 36 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, and 18, for starters.

I would add: You always have something very interesting to talk about, and you can make conversation with anybody. Seriously, anybody. You're good like that.

The birthday festivities are not over yet. I know our stomachs can't stand anymore but hold on a little longer. I'm glad you felt special, because you are. I wanted to shout it from the rooftops how amazing you are but everyone was at church that would apprciate me shouting it.

Well Happy birthday! All day yesterday I kept thinking "Who's birthday is it today???" I should have reached a little farther back in my memory. And those shoes ARE fabulous!

I was thinking back yesterday to that day 36 years ago when you were born. The amount of love that flooded my life then was truly overwhelming. You have brought me much joy and fun and I'm so grateful that you're my daughter. I love you!!!

I don't have to hope that you had a happy birthday! Because I know you did! But I do have to say that it is because you are you! Jill you will always have many who love you, because you love well! Add me to the list of those who truly love you and know that I celebrate every time I think of you, because you are that kind of girl. Best wishes for the best year yet!
