The boys graduated from their first year of preschool today! Truth be told, although I'm happy they accomplished such a feat (at times I wasn't so sure they would), this unfortunately means no more quiet time at my house three days a week. Boo Hoo!
The graduation ceremonies were superbly entertaining and included wearing of traditional regalia with a hilarious moment were Jeffrey was attacked by his tassel, singing duck puppets, the handing out of diplomas, a rousing recitation of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and a song about a slippery fish who gets eaten by a shark who in turn gets eaten by a whale. This cute little song prompted Mike to lean over and whisper his concerns to me about the teaching abilities of Miss Nicole because he was pretty sure that whales don't eat sharks.
Teacher Nicole followed the ceremonies with a tear filled speech about her gratitude for and enjoyment she had experienced teaching the kids. I'm not completely convinced that her tears weren't those of relief that she survived a whole year with Jonathan and Jeffrey in her class and lived to tell about it, but actually I think she truly did love and enjoy the boys and managed to have them feel that from her and for that I'm truly grateful. She'll forever by my hero even though she doesn't understand the proper order of the oceanic food chain.
So here we go into the summer months. I hope we survive until next fall when the boys will enjoy preschool all over again. We've decided to do one more year of preschool even though the boys are already five. After much research, thought and consideration we think that the boys should know, before they start kindergarten, things like...... their ABC's, how to count to ten without skipping number five, that it's not okay to fill up the preschool bathroom sink with water to wash your shoes during class time, that you shouldn't run through the neighborhood totally naked looking for mom to tell her you can't find your swimming suits, or that it's not acceptable to help yourself to the brick of cheese in the neighbors fridge when they aren't home. What do you think? Did we make the right decision?

I love graduations so I'm shocked that you didn't invite me to this one. Oh well, maybe next year, or the next. All that criteria for kindergarten might take a long time to meet. They are the cutest graduates I've ever seen.
Yeah! Matthew graduated today, too. AND, I think you are soooo wise to let them do preschool one more year. I am SO glad that I did that with Matthew. Have fun this summer! I look forward to hearing about all your adventures!
I think that's great they graduated. What a nice preschool teacher-having a whole graduation and everything.
JIll,
Thank you for sharing, Congrats. Jeffery and Jonathan with graduating from pre-school, that is so cool, I am so happy for you, I am excited to see you all soon this summer, we will have fun! I think it is wise. I love you

I love those miniature graduates! I'm so glad Jeffrey survived the attack. How frightening.
Wait a minute....what do you mean you can't eat a brick of cheese out of your neighbor's house when they're not home?! I love doing that.
We had graduation here, too. Stinking cute if you ask me.
What do you have to do to graduate from preschool? Jacob and the twins will be in the same grade. What preschool are they attending next fall? Good luck on a fun filled summer.
I am in love with this ENTIRE post!! We love any kind of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom related stories at our house. It's one of our favorites. And who needs #5 anyway? But I will say that holding my son for an extra year is a decision I'll NEVER regret. Nor will I regret choosing to put my swimming suit ON before running through the neighborhood. I will, however, regret not ever eating cheese out of my neighbors fridge. Because I wasn't aware that was an option.
Congrats Boys!!
Congratulations, Jonathan and Jeffrey. My parents have held back a few of my siblings, and they've done much better.
Wahoo Jonathan and Jeffrey! Contratulations. I didn't even get to go to kindergarten, let alone graduate from it. I don't know the food chain, either. Imagine that! I do like cheese.
Congratulations to your fun boys (and you)! I still can't help but think of that summer (5 years ago, now?), when I spent the night at your house while Mike was gone to help you feed your newborn twins in the night. Good times. They've grown so much, I just can't believe it! And they seem like they've got some fun personality! Time sure does fly!
Wow, I think I got a certificate when I graduated from pre-school. I'm with Michael - whales do not eat sharks. I'm guessing teacher Nicole is the one who told them you can eat cheese from the neighbors' fridge without asking.
I'll be honest...I don't understand preschool, kindergarten graduation.? The boys looked cute in their cap and gowns though!
I think that Grandpa Vere must be so proud of these boys! Their stories might even hit the top ten with his childhood! Love you guys!
bravo boys!
Which one is pomp and which one is
Circumstance?
I'm so glad you found me. Thanks again for ALL of your support this year, you were amazing, I really do appreciate all of your help. Only a few more weeks!!!
Are they going to the same preschool? Or would that be the end of Miss Nicole?
