“Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.”
The Family: A Proclamation to the World
How much more wholesome and recreational can you get than to take a family trip down to Arches National Park?
Not much.
It was a perfect day. Mom, Dad and kid approved.
Jonathan and Jeffrey kept hugging us tightly and thanking us profusely for bringing them. I wish we would have planned a longer trip. We only stayed for one day, but the boys were ready to spend the night in the van so they could stay for at least an extra day.
At one point, Jeffrey looked at me and said, “Mom, what if this place was our backyard? That would be so awesome!”
It really would.

You all look like you should live there. It is a natural playground for all ages. I have a picture of Mary Kate on top of that one arch. I'm surprised she did not take you up there. Or maybe she did mention it. Wish we could have been there. Maybe next time?
Did I spy a football?
you all look gorgeous!
Have I told you lately how breathtakingly beautiful you are. You look gorgeous even when your hiking. You look good in a hat. Looks like fun. wish we were there with you guys.
Oh, boy. I must go there. Soon. Want to repeat your trip? I'd love for our families to go together. So glad you had a wonderful trip!
I love everything about this post- families in nature, beautiful arches and landscapes, and smiles on every face. Perfect.
Great trip. I'm ready to go back. Belinda is right... you look beautiful.
I want to go with your and Kim's families, please don't leave me home.
The thing is, Jeffrey, compared to where I live, Arches IS in your backyard! Lucky...
Awesome pictures.
Yes, I agree with Laura about it practically being your backyard, especially considering this was just a day trip for you. Lucky!
