We made it to 5!

The boys turned five. Can you believe we made it to five with everyone in one piece? For five years we've had twin boys and lived to tell about it, even enjoying some good times along the way. The boys have finally grasped the idea of what being twins is all about and they LOVE the fact that they have the same birthday.

We really celebrated this 5 year milestone. Here are a few highlight from the day....

We had the boy's favorites for dinner. Pizza and ice cream. Jonathan thought it was a little weird that we put candles in cups of ice cream instead of on a cake, but the boys don't eat cake, so...

We took the kids to Kangaroo Zoo, a big arena full of inflatable, animal themed, bouncy contraption type things. (I don't know how else to explain it). They loved this place and were entertained for hours. I'll be getting a family pass for sure. Think how much reading I could do!

Then to Wal-Mart so the boys could pick out new big boy bikes. Here they are trying out their new wheels. They've crashed a few times so thank you Grandma and Grandpa Dickey for the helmet money.

My mom and dad took the boys to Target and let them peruse the toy aisles, giving them the opportunity to pick any toy their hearts desired. With all the possibilities before them they settled on Sponge Bob Square pants pillows. What?
Anyway, happy birthday boys! It's been an exciting five years and we love you both to death!

Looks like a fun day! My sister's sixteenth birthday was on Tuesday, and we also put her candle in her ice cream.

Happy Birthday to my favorite twin five-year-olds! I am so impressed that your parents made it this far. It looks like you had a great day and I am glad you did! Hope the next five are as fun as the first five!

Happy birthday to your boys. But mostly a big CONGRATS to their mom. I am horrible at 2 that are 5 years apart. You should be sainted RIGHT THIS SECOND. (But not before you post the rest of your Paris pics...'cause I really want to see those!)

PS...love the Spongebob pillows. Typical boys!

It sounds like everyone had a great day. I like everything about it except the trip to Wal Mart. How do you expect my grandsons to grow up with any values or any sense of right or wrong? Love you all!

I can't believe it has been five years! I feel a special fondness for those boys and had to wipe a tear as I read about their trips to Walmart and Target. I wish I could have been there! Oh, and Spongebob pillows are the new bb-guns.

I think you are amazing to be raising twins. I can only handle mine one at a time!

I want to go to the Kangaroo Zoo (with or without my kids). Happy birthday to my favorite set of twins. Here's to 10 cumulative years of keys, Max and Ruby, Hee Hee and Haw Haw, more keys, trucks, shredded (neighbor's) mail on the lawn, even more keys, lawnmower rides, and all the other stuff your boys are made of.

They sure are cuties. Sound like a birthday fit for 5 year olds. Kangaroo Zoo is one of our favorite places too. We'll have to go sometime. Hum, how would I spend my birthday if I really had a choice?

In viewing this post, Jacob said (for the millionth time), "I want to go to that house right now. I see Jeffrey and Jonathan and play." Your boys are so full of fun and life! We loved playing with them all summer last year! We miss you all! Happy Birthday Jeffrey and Jonathan!
