Tooth Number Two

tulo and jeffrey's tooth 043

We lost another tooth this week. This time it was Jeffrey who was the loser. About the same time that Jonathan lost his tooth a couple weeks ago, we discovered that Jeffrey had a permanent tooth growing behind his baby tooth so that’s why you can already see another tooth where the hole should be. The dentist says his tongue will help push that new tooth forward. Let’s hope he’s right or, can you say “braces?”

Jeffrey put his tooth under his pillow and the next morning he ran into our room very distraught because the tooth fairy had forgotten to come. Oops! Daddy quickly came to the rescue with a thorough search of the bed while he had Jeffrey looking under the bed. Miraculously he found two quarters and two suckers. Way to be quick Mike!

That is one sneaky tooth fairy.

Bryn had the same thing with the permanent tooth arriving much before the baby tooth left. Maybe it's in the genes.

Way to be a loser, Jeffrey! And props to the tooth fairy, too!

ha ha, I did a few of those tricks too. One time to cover up big time,I even told Jade that tooth fairy doesn't work on Sundays. (That's because she had already searched high and low before she came to tell me of tooth fairy's absence of the night before, I couldn't very well have done anything else at that point.)

Our kids only ever get a quarter. It's interesting, I've only heard of the tooth fairly in this county and that they left a quarter by the pillow. But none of my American friends follow rules. They leave more money on the pillow than a quarter. I am confused... In all the tooth fairy books I've read, it is always a quarter!! You guys - get it right!!

We had this conversation this morning about whether I had seen the tooth fairy in real life or just talked to her on the phone. My boys thought it was cool that I had actually seen her in real life. We have tried the searching the bed high and low for a tricky toothfairy. Great come back. We gave a dollar, where did that come from?

I think I put whatever was in the wallet at the time--no set amount. Some teeth are worth more than others, huh! Good save, Michael.
