Many of my family members have been encouraging me to start a blog. I've been adamantly against it. My argument has always been that I have nothing exciting enough going on in my life that anyone would want to read about. I'm just a stay at home mom who's life is very ordinary and routine, but these family members still insist that I become a blogger. "We know you have exciting things to share," they say, "we just know it."
I read certain blogs regularly: Emilie lives in France, always interesting. Meredith is the most twistedly hilarious person I know and a fabulous writer. Alisa is trying to survive cancer and has many insights into life. Cami is always good for a laugh. Ahsley posts her gorgeous art work.... and the list goes on. As for me, I've got nothing interesting to say and I don't say anything in a interesting way.
But now everything has changed. I owe my encouraging family members a huge apology. Finally, something has happened in my oh so boring life that is exciting enough to blog about! I'm just bursting to share the news, so here it is, everyone hold on to you seats....drum roll please.....
Mike and I are now the proud owners of not one, but TWO garbage cans. Yes, it's true. The city delivered number 2 just the other day. It's so clean and shiny. Now we can put one garbage can in the back yard as a quick and convenient receptacle for Winnie's poop and the lawn clippings, and we can keep one out front for all other garbage needs. Plus won't it be GREAT at Christmas time when we have more garbage space for all the extra boxes and wrapping paper? See folks, this is exciting stuff. I just hope more exciting things take place as the months go by so that my blog will have more than one entry. Hey, I'm just happy that I finally have something exciting enough to tell the world.

Oh boy Jill. I am nearly falling off my chair. We only have one garbage can darn it...we can't ever keep up with you guys. I guess I'll go eat worms. By the way, a big WOO WOO for a saaa-weet blog. Love the pic and foot flip.
Jill
Welcome to cyberspace - blogger style. I for one am thrilled that you will be blogging more regular. I personally love reading all of my friends blogs and never having the responsibility of updating my own. Plus you are funny and pretty. The garbage picture proves it. Count on me to check this out regularly and count on me to harass you if you don't update regularly.
Jill!
It's so great that you've started a blog! I am really glad I'll get to hear more regular updates about you and your family. I miss you a lot. Congratulations on the new garbage can! Toot.
HA HA HA! I love it. This is the best post ever in the history of blogging. Welcome to the elite world of two rubbish bins (we also have two, but not nearly as big as yours).
Well, I was hoping for different news (remember, I do like grandchildren), but I will be happy with two garbage cans.
You are ANYTHING but ordinary! And I mean that in the best possible way! We have been a 2 garbage can family for years. We really are trashy people!
jill - i think this is the bomb. (this = 1. your blog. 2. your garbage can). the truth is that you are fabulous jill and your blog will be great because of that. i miss you.
Jill, this pic is already practically framed and hanging above my lab bench.
I absolutely love the picture! The garbage cans are sure pretty! HAHA! I am so excited that you started a blog!
Jill now I know where I will be going for my dose of laughter for the day. What a great way to start your day of releasing endorphins. You are hilarious. Thanks for making me laugh out loud. Even though I am your neighbor I didn't know so many exciting things were happening at the Dickey household.
Love Belinda
